I am glad to say that I've finally been able to do some work on the Luxembourg Shark Museum (formerly known as our spare bedroom) by August 2001, so that it now looks much better than end of March 2001).
Museum outlayNorth view:
The small showcase in the North view will hold specimens relating to fossil and extinct shark & ray species:
The desk can be used by visitors and holds measurement and optical equipment.

The three large showcases in the East view will hold specimens relating to different extant shark & ray species:
South view:
The showcase in the South view will hold items relating to:
The two small filing cabinet hold surplus specimens of small fossil and recent specimens, mostly teeth and stingray barbs. The small showcase on top of the filing cabinets will display small shark jaws and teeth, stingray barbs, egg-capsules etc. Above the small showcase are hung the replica jaws of Mrs. Big, a 19' 6" great white shark.
West view:The three hanging registry file cabinets and the cupboard in the West view will hold my surplus specimens. BTW the specimen lying on the file cabinets is the tail of a record size thresher shark. Big Brothers: the large painting of two great white sharks over the file cabinets is an original painted by Luxembourg wildlife artist and graphic designer Marco Weiten. |
